Roy Miki reads this excerpt of assumptions which explores the idea of the sheer density that exists in any given piece of writing. There is not only “the content” of the work, not only puns and the possible slips of meaning that can take place in the words, but also in the letters and the new words that can be made from the fracturing of words into smaller components.
In this piece, the text has been recomposed spatially. The page without the motion is a jumble and not comprehensible using traditional reading strategies. The animation navigates this complexity revealing the words in a specific order to share the poem.
